Drive-In Racks
Drive-In Racks – If maximizing space utilization in your warehouse is essential, and you store homogeneous products with low turnover and a large number of pallets per storage unit, then drive-in racks are the ideal solution. This system requires a minimal number of aisles, allowing for the utilization of up to 85% of the storage space. It is particularly effective in cold rooms and freezers, where the cost of maintaining the warehouse is higher. In drive-in racks, loads of various sizes can be stored, but this requires defining them at the production stage. In drive-in and drive-through racks, the operational aisles of the forklift serve as storage lanes, meaning the forklift enters the rack structure along with the pallet. Drive-in racks are used for block storage, where there is no access to individual load units. Therefore, they are used for storing inventory with a small number of assortment positions and a significant number of load units of a given assortment.
