Radio Shuttle Racks
Radio Shuttle Racks – This system is particularly effective in the food industry, especially in cold storage and freezers. The racks consist of vertical frames and metal support levels mounted on them, along with rails that hold the load units at each level. Support beams are also installed inside as rail supports. An electric shuttle moves within the created cargo corridors. At the ends of the rails, there are bumpers that prevent the shuttle from falling off the rack. A remotely controlled transfer cart is used, enabling the creation of multi-level structures in blocked tunnels. These solutions not only increase the utilization of warehouse space and reduce loading and unloading times by up to 50%, but also reduce the risk of accidents and rack damage.
These racks are installed in two configurations:
- Drive-in: with access to pallets from one side of the rack (stock rotation in LIFO model),
- Drive-through: with access to pallets from both sides of the rack (stock rotation in FIFO model).
